Attention 1P5 Donors: We Need You to Update Your Account!

Before we launch into our usual coverage for the week, we need to do a bit of housekeeping.

After researching new options for months, we’ve finally implemented a new donor management software that will provide both us and you with better information and reporting on charitable giving to 1P5. And for those of you who have asked for an alternative to PayPal, we are now offering a new payment option: we can now accept credit card donations through Stripe!

(If you like and want to continue to use PayPal, don’t worry – you still can.)

The new software is called “Kindful”, and it’s designed especially for non-profits like us. It looks great and it’s easy to use – even on mobile devices. We’ve spent the past few days migrating our donor database and customizing things to meet our needs, but now we need some help from you. We need you to log in and ensure that your records are accurate and up to date.

Please go to https://1p5.kindful.com/, and select “Create an Account” from the top right corner of the screen:

If you’re on a mobile device, you may see a little gear wheel in that corner instead. This is what you’ll want to click in order to access the “Create an Account” dialog:

From there, creating an account is easy. First, you’ll enter your email address — please use the one associated with your PayPal account to ensure that your previous donations are synced up with your new account. You can update your communications preferences later if you want to change this. Then just add a name and password.

Once that’s done, you’ll be taken to a dashboard where you can see:

• Your full history of donations
• Year-end tax reporting
• Profile and billing information
• Easy access to make additional gifts

The whole process only takes about a minute, and I’ve created a video walkthrough of creating an an account so you can see what it looks like, below:

You will also notice changes to our monthly campaign pages, which now look like this:

And for the first time ever, these are actually readable on mobile devices without needing to magnify your screen:
