Sacred Music Concert in Charlottesville, Virginia Tonight

Attention readers in Virginia (and surrounding areas)! It’s late notice, but I wanted to pass along an invitation to attend an evening of sacred music ancient and new. Our own writer and composer, Dr. Mark Nowakowski, is currently in the Old Dominion, working with the baroque ensemble “Three Notch’d Road” on his new setting of the earliest discovered Marian Hymn, the “Sub Tuum Praesidium”. Mark reports that the musicians are sounding absolutely fantastic.

The concerts will be held tonight (February 3rd) at 7:30PM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton (purchase tickets for this venue here), and tomorrow night (February 4th) at 7:30PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Charlottesville (tickets here).

If you attend, please come say hello to the composer, who will be in attendance, and let him know you heard about the concert here at 1P5.

Performance and composer information are as follows:

Performing group: Three Notch’d Road Baroque Ensemble
Concert title: Flower of Paradise: Music inspired by the Virgin Mary
including the world premiere of “Sub Tuum Praesidium” by Mark Nowakowski
