Merry Christmas from OnePeterFive!

Christmas

Today marks the last official business day of 2014 for 1P5. For the next two weeks, we’ll be spending time with family and friends, offering the final penances of advent and enjoying the graces and feasting of Christmas, catching up on our reading (and sleeping), and making plans for the new year.

It’s been a fast and furious five months. Since our launch on August 1st, we’ve received over 1.3 million page views and hundreds of thousands of social shares. We’ve published over 250 articles, blog posts, and news links, produced 12 podcasts, and have featured some of the best Catholic writers from around the world. All of this adds up to one important fact: we are reaching many people with content that promotes the truth and beauty of Catholicism in new and exciting ways.

I am very pleased with what we’ve accomplished so far. Our faith is a priceless treasure, though a vast portion of it lies buried in history. Every gem uncovered, every lost devotion or forgotten truth or scrap of wisdom from the saints explored has all the wonder of something brand new. Together, we are rediscovering Catholicism. Together, we are, as our motto states, “rebuilding Catholic culture and restoring Catholic tradition.”

From Monday, December 22nd through Friday, January 2nd, we’ll be re-running some of our greatest hits – our best content from this year. If you’ve found us only recently, I promise there’s some fantastic writing you’re not going to want to miss. If you’ve been with us from the beginning, I hope you’ll stop by now and then over the next couple of weeks to give some of these articles another read.

We’ll return to publishing new content on Monday, January 5th. We already have some great stuff lined up. I expect 2015 to be a very big year for the Church and for 1P5. Over the Christmas holiday, please tell your family and friends about us and encourage them to give us a read. (If you want to help spread the news at your parish or youth group or Knights of Columbus council or favorite Catholic bookstore, we have printable flyers available on our resources page.)

I can’t thank you enough for helping us to achieve so much success so quickly. Thank you for reading, thank you for sharing our work, and  thank you for your financial support and your prayers. We literally can’t do this work without you, and we’re so grateful to have you along with us as we build this enterprise.

On behalf of all of us at 1P5, we wish you a very merry and holy Christmas, and a blessed and prosperous new year!

In Christ,

Steve Skojec
