Challenge for Challenge

Dear OnePeterFive donors, supporters and readers,

I wanted to write to you today about the topic of challenge, and the role it plays in our work here at OnePeterFive.

But it became clear that I need to offer you a challenge instead.

Last week I appealed to you to help us raise the necessary $60,000 for this spring season, the time (one of only two such seasons each year) when we invite the financial support of our loyal readers to help us meet our expenses.

I’m sorry to say we didn’t come close to raising what we need.

There are a lot of reasons that may be the case. But one reason I know cannot be true is that you don’t value what we’re doing here.

I believe you do value this work, as an important voice defending the Faith and trumpeting all that is best and brightest in our 2,000 year-old Church.

Therefore, I challenge you to support us today because our need is genuine and my trust in you is well-founded. You have shown us with your readership, letters of appreciation, and past support that you are passionate for the things we are passionate about.

What other online publication gives intelligent critiques of the New Mass, the reasons the FBI is spying on traditionalist Catholics, and how it is that Vatican II failed but that the Church has not? Stories on the meaning of suffering alongside histories of musical Mass settings?

It’s not rare for us to find ourselves swimming upstream. That’s actually what we do at OnePeterFive. We call out to our Church, its leaders, our friends and fellow believers to boldly live out the call of Christ in courage, in truth and in abandonment to love’s demands.

It’s not a welcome message in an age of secular hedonism, whose tentacles touch everything, reaching even to our souls. It’s not welcome even among our fellow Catholics.

Nevertheless, we’re happy – in fact, called – to carry this countercultural message, to offer this challenge.

But we shouldn’t need to swim upstream when it comes to asking for support. You are our friends, and we need you to share your gift today, one that is appropriate for your circumstances. We need your most generous donation, one that shows us you are with us.

Please don’t wait. Please make a tax-deductible gift to OnePeterFive today.

All gifts are needed, from the largest – $10,000 will fund us for an entire month – to the smallest – be it $100, $50 or even $25.

Look for yourself – we are offering a unique and indispensable contribution to the traditional movement.

Please support OnePeterFive today.

Sincerely in Christ,

Timothy S. Flanders
Editor in Chief
Apparition of St. Michael

P.S. You’re one of a very special group – small in number but large-hearted and of strong purpose. Please hear our cry and make your gift to sustain our mission today.
