The Laugh I So Desperately Needed

It’s been a heavy couple of months. I’m feeling it, and I’m sure you are, too.

Which is why this Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer spoof from the crew of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is just what the doctor ordered.

      • Please forgive me. I had thought my comments were potentially making a contribution to this web site. But I gather you are finding all or most of my comments to be detrimental to this web site. I had no idea. I have no interest in visiting a home where my thoughts are viewed as troll-ish. I hate internet trolls myself, regardless of their motive. I will cease posting comments on the 1 Peter 5 web site. I respect your right to govern your own web site. Don’t worry. The Internet is overflowing with places to post comments. It is only right and normal that like minds should congregate together, and that contrary minds should be excluded. Does not the Word of God tells us to “be of one mind”? (2 Cor. 13:11) May God bless you and your work.

      • Why? Because we are at war.

I just saw the U.S. Secretary of Defense say on TV that the U.S. is at war with ISIS.

When a video appears on the Internet of a priest, or the pope, clowning around when on duty, traditional Catholics denounce that clowning around.

        Why?

Because we are at war spiritually speaking, and our priests and the pope are supposed to be our leaders in that war.

In 1 Peter 5 we are commanded by St. Peter to:

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (verse 8)

The actual time spent messing around on that video was less than a minute and a half. The rest was standard footage spliced into the video. I assume that the U.S. Armed forces have a little leisure time even during a war. Please Gus, learn to laugh. There’s no such thing as a saint with no sense of humour. Many of the martyrs laughed as they were dying. The Catholic Faith should be joyous.

Any fool can rationalize anything he want to do.

          You just proved that,
