Editor’s Note: we got word after the podcast recording that Cardinal Burke has confirmed his demotion by Pope Francis. He is cited multiple times in the podcast, and we believe his statements take on even greater significance in light of this development.
ON TODAY’S EPISODE: The synod is closing on Sunday. Will the pope have a Humanae Vitae moment, or will he let the heretics have the microphone? Plus: Elliot Bougis interviews Fred Harris, a convert from Eastern Orthodoxy, about his conversion and the experiences he had with the Orthodox position on divorce and remarriage – and how he sees that playing into the work of the synod.

Well, at least a regular feature for “Mao, or Modernist?” Very fun.
Great insights into Orthodox praxis. Fred is a good tour guide; thanks.
Brutal honesty, Mr. Skojec. Thank you for delivering on that. It’s incredibly difficult to be up front about intuition as it can so often be shrugged off by detractors as overly subjective. God gave you good senses. Continue exercising them and you’ll be of service to a lot of people.
In the spirit of John the Baptist’s mission to straighten paths, may I recommend Miss Barnhardt as your next guest? I’ve yet to hear any interviewer really engage her on religious topics.
