Dear OnePeterFive Confraternity members, subscribers, and supporters,

Happy Ascension! It’s a great day to be Catholic. What a joy to enter into the mystery of Our Lord’s ascension to His throne. Today I want to tell you about the adult Latin and catechism courses I am teaching this summer with the Avila Institute.

This will be my third year teaching the CREDO course in which we go through the CREDO Catechism by Bishop Schneider and go deep into all the theological controversies in their historical context. We will go deep into the SSPX controversies, the nuances of the post-Tridentine period, and all the specific points of His Excellency’s work addressing what Cardinal Sarah called, in his launch of the CREDO Catechism in Rome, the “crisis of the Magisterium.” We will learn why so much of our controversies can be boiled down to a dubium from Trent: the dogma non definitum of the Two Swords doctrine. However, in this class I will explain and defend every single Catholic position that is possible within orthodoxy, traditional or not.

Please note: the course is broken up into two 6 weeks classes covering the first half and second half of the CREDO Catechism.

CREDO, part 1

CREDO, part 2

The next class I’m very excited about. I’ve been teaching High School Latin with our online homeschool for three years, but this will be our first adult Latin Class. It’s 12 weeks long, and we will give you the basics you need to enter deeper into the Latin prayers, liturgy and Holy Bible. We will also cover lots of history and why Latin is essential for Christendom, in addition to Protestant apologetics with Latin.

Looking forward to meeting all of you virtually in our Zoom classroom! 🙂
