Providential? Bishop Schneider’s New Crusade for Holy Popes

Last week I marveled at the liturgical providence of the Conclave – it took place between the “two” Good Shepherd Sundays in the Latin rites each year. The first, in the ancient Roman Rite, took place on the Sunday before the Conclave began. The second, in the Novus Ordo Missae, took place on the Sunday after Leo XIV was elected.

Do you remember what the Sunday 1st Reading was on the Sunday following Traditionis Custodes in the Novus Ordo Missae in Rome?

Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture, says the Lord. Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who shepherd my people: you have scattered by sheep and driven them away. You have not cared for them, but I will take care to punish your evil deeds. I myself will gather the remnant of my flock from all the lands to which I have driven them and bring them back to their meadow, where they shall increase and multiply. I will appoint shepherds for them who will shepherd them so that they need no longer fear and tremble; and none shall be missing, says the Lord.[1]

Perhaps this is a sign of Providence, perhaps not. We will see what becomes of Papa Prevost.

But another such providential sign seemed to appear to me in another way. On May 13 last year, Bishop Schneider completed his new book which is now being released: Salve Regina: a Rosary Crusade to Plead for Holy Popes. It was originally published in Portuguese last year. The English translation was released this year by Sophia Institute press.

As Providence would have it, immediately following the two good Shepherd Sundays and Pope Leo’s election, Fatima Day this year happens today. So this new Crusade, which is a Rosary Crusade for holy popes, corresponds perfectly to the election of the new Pontiff.

Perhaps this is a sign of Providence, perhaps not. We will see what becomes of Papa Prevost.

In his introductory remarks in the book, he quotes sister Lucia saying that Our Lady “has given a new efficacy to the prayer of the holy rosary.” And why is the good Bishop calling this new Crusade?

The Holy See, whose essential mission is to be the chair of truth, is partially occupied by her enemies, who have succeeded in exerting a decisive influence on the Roman Curia itself – on the very governance of the Catholic Church.

Bishop Schneider has full confidence that: “God is pleased to come to our aid through the little ones.” Therefore his book begins with his special prayer for holy Popes and the litany of the Child Jesus. “Today,” he says, “we are called to unite in a new Rosary Crusade, begging God to free the Holy See from subjection to Christ’s enemies.”

This of course recalls the prayers “for the liberty and exlation of Holy Mother Church,” added to the end of Low Mass after the subjection of the Papal States to the Masonic enemies of Christ in 1870 (The “Real Alta Vendtia” in its historical context). These prayers of course are still prayed at every Low Mass. It seems that the temporal enemies of Vatican City have become more intense and dire since 1870 by changing temporal enemies into spiritual enemies. Our Lady of Fatima appeared, of course, shortly after 1870 and warned of these spiritual enemies.

Here at OnePeterFive we promote the first Crusade of Bishop Schneider, the Crusade of Eucharistic Reparation, under the patronage of the icon of the Theotokos of Fatima.

The Icon of the Theotokos of Fatima

We sell this icon in the west and send all the money to our Catholic brethren in Russia who are building the shrine to Our Lady of Fatima in St. Petersburg, Russia.

This new Rosary Crusade, with the election of the new Pontiff, heightens the call for each one of us to place our trust in Our Lady of Fatima who will see us through every new adversity. (See “Another Third Pornocracy Conclave: Let’s Prepare for the Worst and Hope for the Best”).

Again, providentially, Pope Francis was the Pope who consecrated Russia in the way most perfectly fulfilling Our Lady’s wishes. It is for this reason that Bishop Schneider asserts that this Consecration was indeed valid. If this is true, then the era of Fatima is just beginning, and this new Rosary Crusade can be the catalyst for the widespread movement of penance – commanded by Mary our Mother – that was always unfulfilled by the faithful – no matter what the Pope did or did not do.

Let us therefore place not our trust in a new Pope, but rather in the mercy of God. Let us all repent, and call our neighbour to repent, so that we can all call down upon us His mercy, and send us all Holy Popes and a Holy People of God.
