A special opportunity for Catholic women that will offer solace for their souls amid the noise of the modern world is approaching.
A Return to Tradition: Women’s Conference is scheduled for August 23-24 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Littleton, Colorado.
This is the third year for the grassroots conference presented by a group of women from Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC) with the parish’s backing. The event draws hundreds of women from numerous states and continues to grow, and its success is such that the in-person conference is sold out.
But a livestream option remains and the ladies from OLMC are on track to again deliver an invaluable event infusing faith, fellowship, authentic femininity, and traditional spirituality.
I was blessed to attend last year, and I could not be happier to be going again.
I first learned about the conference before last year’s event from a Facebook post. The conference flyer expressed something I longed for, the substance and the beauty of the Catholic faith.
As an Iowan I would not have otherwise seen mention of the conference. The ladies had wanted to expand their reach from the first year and so they ventured onto social media to promote the event. That decision opened the door to blessing beyond measure for me not only because of their outstanding event but also their personification of faith.
An editor and journalist by trade, I offered to cover the event, and the ladies kindly accepted. Little did I know I was in for an incredible, providential encounter.
I have never felt so immediately welcome and at home, temporally and spiritually. The ladies behind the Return to Tradition Women’s Conference did not miss a beat enfolding me in their care as part of their beautiful organic effort to share our Catholic faith.
It was both a pleasure and an honor to photograph and write about the event for OnePeterFive and others.
These women genuinely seek to connect others with Catholicism’s splendor in answer to ugliness permeating our culture because of Man having strayed from the Lord’s law. The fruit of their labor is an oasis in our broken world.
This event is not a call to live in a cocoon shuttered away from the world; it is an invitation to be reacquainted with God’s plan for man and woman – to recognize its beauty. And it offers the means of being equipped to live that out.
While the approach to promoting and conducting faith events is often flashy, or banal, the women organizing this conference look simply to the Catholic faith because its magnificence needs no other presentation.
The conference content is substantive, engaging, and pertinent to the plight of Catholics looking to live faithfully in the modern world.
Along with the speakers’ presentations attendees are blessed by Mass, Confession, the Holy Rosary, and a Marian Procession, most of which is available via the livestream.
At a time where chaos, disorder, and confusion are flourishing and celebrated, A Return to Tradition: Women’s Conference is a welcome reprieve of Catholicism.
